A new flagship phone is supposed to be announced by Google at a media event in San Francisco next month said the company late this Monday. A YouTube video Google’s horizontal search bar like rectangle slowly changing shape into a familiar phone shape announced the October 4th event. A Google logo was flashing on one side of the familiar outline confirmed it’s a Google Device but the video didn’t give away any name. It’s been widely expected that an October event from the company will announce a 4K Chromecast and a new home-branded phone which are been rumored since long and a release is expected at the end of this year.
After about 2 weeks the company confirmed its Project Ara dissolution the invitations arrived. Project Ara is an attempt from the company to build a phone whose parts can be changed like Lego parts. With no specs and expected release date included a report mentioned the upcoming Google devices might be called Pixel and Pixel XL.
The Daydream Virtual Reality and Google Home, a speaker that will have Amazon’s Echo (always listening virtual assistant) like capabilities and will also compete with the same. The company declined to comment any further but did keep us all on our toes by letting us know that something exciting can be expected from the 9 p.m. PT event.
