Arcules, an Irvine, California-based Canon Group company that provides integrated cloud-based video surveillance and IoT services, as per recent reports, has announced its latest offering – access control-as-a-service (ACaaS). The Irvine-based Arcules, with this latest addition to its suite of services offering, plans on enabling customers to centrally manage access control effectively across various, geographically dispersed business locations, all this within a single, intuitive user interface.
The Arcules service suite delivers video analytics, advanced video management of video surveillance data and access control information in one single unified solution. Furthermore, the service suite ensures end users can correlate video surveillance data with access control events, associate cameras with doors, overview in real-time the status of doors, and authorize entry access with either grant or restrict permissions, all of this via the Arcules portal. In addition to this, the company also integrates alarms across the video and access services. Arcules’ bundle [suite] offering ensures there is no need to configure multiple pieces of software to manage VMS and access control users and cardholders.
The company also offers its ACaaS service as a standalone cloud offering, ensuring the same, old, and easy to work through user-interface, user management, and access functionality, without video data or video analytics.
Arcules in alliance with Axis Communications plans on integrating the Arcules ACaaS with the AXIS A1601 Network Door Controllers, to support access control. In addition to this, the customers using the Arcules service can leverage the Axis surveillance camera technology to automatically update their firmware directly using the Arcules platform.
“At Axis Communications, we view access control as a core component of a comprehensive approach to safety, and the cloud as a main driver in the next evolution of the security market,” stated Alex Walthers, Business Development Manager, Application Development Partner Program, Axis Communications, Inc. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with Arcules to ensure close integration of our solutions and services to deliver a refined user experience that simplifies manageability, deployment, and administration.”
“Since our inception, Arcules has worked to redefine expectations for video cloud services by helping businesses realize the untapped potential of the data available,” stated Andreas Pettersson, CEO, Arcules. “With the introduction of access control and our collaboration with Axis Communications, we add another rich layer to our service enabling organizations to build intelligent infrastructure that drives informed decision-making.”
