Ayla Networks, an IoT platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, in a recent statement on Monday, Feb. 11th 2019, announced that the company’s device agent software will now come integrated with the Qualcomm LTE IoT software development kit (SDK) to enable any cellular/LPWAN protocol support. The kit can be used with the Qualcomm MDM9206 LTE IoT global multimode modem. IoT solutions built with that hardware will now come with the Ayla IoT platform connectivity support out of the box, thus eliminating any need for external configuration or support.
According to Jonathan Cobb, CEO of Ayla Networks, Qualcomm Technologies is a leader in next-gen intelligent and connected cellular technology solutions. The Ayla device agent combined with Qualcomm LTE IoT SDK will help product manufacturers and service providers to pave way for new business opportunities, with their much superior cellular IoT solutions.
The Qualcomm toolkit provides improved asset tracking and tracing functions for widespread IoT segments. With the access to ultra-low power connectivity, enhanced and brand new use cases such as connectivity in remote areas like factories and remote operations, where WiFi isn’t a possibility.
According to Vieri Vanghi, vice president, product management, Qualcomm Europe, Inc, the Qualcomm LTE IoT SDK kit integration with Ayla Network agent is a well-thought-of solution to boost innovations to enhance productivity and save money. By bringing in LTE IoT technologies, enterprises can optimize supply-chain management, asset tracking and tracing, thus benefiting manufacturing and services companies all around the globe.
