The industry has seen a spate of acquisition in the past one year and has become progressively an international issue and the newest to expand its worldwide footprint is services provider Special Counsel that announced International D4 provider D4 acquisition. A statement from the Special Counsel, however, mentioned the D4 brand will stay intact with the John Holland continuing to be the CEO and the company will keep its headquarters in Rochester, New York. D4 has operations in China and certainly, this will help Special Counsel to expand its business through Shanghai.


As of now, the term of the deal hasn’t been disclosed. Tom Groom was appointed as the managing director of the D4 in China and after about two months, the move was announced. Groom described as “relatively new” for the country while addressing the move which was made D4 expand its managed services contribution in the Mainland China. General Counsel has also expanded its base to London recently. Special Counsel said that the eQ (the e-Discovery division of Special Counsel) would be remaining devoted to its customers. There is currently a bigger need for e-Discovery Services to go past US borders.
