Nathaniel Gleicher, head of Facebook’s cybersecurity policy explained that “Facebook will target the campaigns that particularly establish vulnerability that hackers may target. Facebook announced that it’ll help campaigns to adopt stronger security protections like two-step authentication and monitor the factors leading to hacking threats”.
Harper Reed, who served as President Obama’s chief technology officer during the 2012 re-election campaign said that Fifty days is an eternity in campaign time, at this point, has made gross security problems arise in a sequential manner where these type of security tools actually solves the problem.

Similar to the other tech giants, Facebook has also been under the microscope in recent years after the social networking giant failed to prevent meddling in the presidential election of 2016.

Now, the company worked more on these type of issues to crack down on foreign interference campaigns after facing many problems from lawmakers.

Now Facebook setup with new security tools just before the midterm elections to prevent foreign campaigns in the midterms. Facebook may also expand its new security tools for future elections if great work was achieved by it so that Facebook hopes that foreign campaign on its platform will be eliminated.
