Omen PCs are fully loaded with the type of hardware for the high-end gaming market requirements. HP has made a comeback with a bang as it promised. For the best virtual reality and gaming experience, the Omen 117 laptop and the Omen X desktop are not only funky looking but also packed with the latest CPUs and GPUs. These are going to be the high-end lineup from HP excluding its Z workstations.
The Omen X desktop is in a cube form with a set of kickstands supporting the structure and the unconventional design provides a much better ventilation for the PC. The chassis can support Core i5 and i7 6th gen CPUs and up to 2 Nvidia GTX 1080 series or AMD Radeon R9 Fury X GPUs or the latest AMD Radeon RX 480 based on Polaris architecture. These are some of the fastest chipsets available in the market. Other features include DDR4 memory, 802.11ac wireless connectivity port, a total of three display ports, an HDMI port, 2 USB type-c and 3 USB 3.0 and multiple HDD or SSD slots. The Omen X will be available with a starting price of$1,799 on HP’s website and $2,099.99 through US retailers from August 17th and October 16th respectively.
The Omen 17 laptop, on the other hand, is equipped with a similar CPU and Nvidia GTX 1060 or 1070 GPUs, a 17-inch display supporting the 4K resolution and the company claims 7.25 hours of battery life on a 95-watt polymer battery. The Omen 17 has Bang and Olufsen sound system and is VR ready and will be available with a starting price of $1,599.99 but the dates are not yet confirmed.
