Hurricane Electric, a Fremont, California-based global Internet service provider offering IPv4 and IPv6 services, as per recent reports this week, has announced adding a new point-of-presence (PoP) at e-shelter’s data center facility in Frankfurt. e-shelter, a leading data center operator in Europe will have the new PoP at its Eschborner Landstrasse 100, site in Frankfurt. This PoP at e-shelter’s Frankfurt data center will successfully establish a link to over 200 internet exchanges all around the world, enabling customers to connect to the internet using a variety of packaged services.
The Datacenter facility at Frankfurt 1 spans across a total of 581,000 sq. ft. and is claimed to be Europe’s largest individual data center site.
With this PoP, Hurricane Electric has successfully established 5 PoPs in total in Frankfurt alone and 10 in overall Germany. The PoP is expected to provide improved fault tolerance, load balancing, and congestion management in delivering next-gen IP connectivity services.

With this new PoP, e-shelter customers and those in the vicinity of Frankfurt will now have a variety of new connectivity options and access to Hurricane’s extensive IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100GE, 10GE, and 1GE ports.
