Honeywell, a Morris Plains, New Jersey-based industry-specific solution provider, as per a recent press release statement on Thursday, Mar. 7th 2019, was chosen by Japan Airline’s regional commuter subsidiary, J-Air, to analyze flight data to improve flight efficiency using Honeywell’s GoDirect™ Flight Efficiency analytics software. The analytics software will further assist J-Air, assess consumption and work on ways to reduce it, ultimately the GoDirect is expected to drive better decisions within the Japanese regional commuter airline, to help increase the airline’s profitability and on-time performance.
According to Kosuke Kuroda, manager, Fuel Group, General Procurement, Japan Airlines, a significant portion of an airline’s operating expenses is taken up by the jet fuel, thus it’s crucial to have an in-depth understanding of fuel consumption across all the airlines and fleets. Adding further Kosuke said that with Honeywell’s GoDirect Flight Efficiency software, the company will be better equipped with data insights to make decisions that increase revenues through efficient flight routes and better visibility into operational controls.
The regional airliner, as per the agreement, will implement the GoDirect Flight Efficiency analytics across 32 aircraft in its Embraer E170 and E190 fleet. Japan Airlines already began using the service in 2017, now with J-Air too enrolled, it adds up to nearly 200 aircraft enrolled, and the airline group is now Honeywell’s biggest GoDirect Flight Efficiency client in the Asia Pacific.
