As per recent reports, 3xLOGIC, a Westminster, Colorado-based surveillance and security solutions provider, and Sonitrol of Fort Lauderdale have entered a partnership agreement on a security system upgrade for Junior Achievement of South Florida (JASF) at JASF’s JA World Huizenga Center at the Lillian S. Wells Pavilion (JA World).
JASF specializes in providing real-world training to enhance financial literacy and skill-building opportunities of young people, enabling them with different career choices to explore. The organization inculcates entrepreneurship values among students, teaching them how to start their own businesses, and further strengthen their workplaces.
The JA World Huizenga Center has built-in learning area of over 60,000 square feet, along with rentable meetings rooms and the Huizenga Catering Kitchen. The JASF claims the JA World is the world’s largest Junior Achievement facility. But such large establishments often need tighter and effective security, this is where the 3xLOGIC & Sonitrol come in.
“Each day, 450 students participate in JA BizTown and JA Finance Park simulations at JA World. Their safety and the safety of our volunteers, staff, and guests is of the utmost concern to us,” explains Laurie Sallarulo, president & CEO, JASF.
In 2008, Sonitrol started working with JASF, in the early design and build phase of the JA World facility, all through its completion in 2009. The then initial security system installed included remotely managed access control, verified audio intrusion detection, and analog cameras – as at the time, IP cameras were too expensive.
“Previously, we had 18 analog cameras on the system,” states Leni Smith, director of operations for JASF. “As time went on, it was clear that we needed to bring more areas inside and outside the building under surveillance, we wanted to access more cutting-edge IP camera technology, and we wanted to have all our surveillance under one video management system.”
