According to Steve Hilton, president and analyst, MachNation, the firm’s second annual IoT Edge ScoreCard is the industry’s most thorough and in-detailed review of IoT edge platforms. The firm asserts that 75 percent of all industrial IoT deployments all around the world use edge capabilities, thus its crucial for enterprises to understand these IoT edge platforms’ strengths and weaknesses.
The IoT Edge ScoreCard 2019 includes graphical data to help enterprises understand the IoT edge platforms’ plus points, providing them the clarity to make an insightful choice. Furthermore, the ScoreCard ranks these platform vendors based on 17 detailed technical and business criteria.
According to Samuel Hale, analyst and head of IoT platform testing, MachNation, the firm based on customer demand, have also included summary figures in the 2019 ScoreCard describing vendors’ primary edge capabilities which include edge visualization, edge analytics, edge data storage, edge data processing, edge management, hypervisor/OS, and edge hardware.
