Neos, a London, UK-based smart home insurance provider, as per recent reports, has announced its collaboration with American Family Insurance (AmFam), a Madison, Wisconsin-based private mutual company that provides property, casualty, and auto insurance, offering US customers the option to safeguard their smart homes with Neos’ smart home tech.
The London-based Neos, founded in 2016, offering smart home insurance products and services, now has partnerships with the UK and the Netherlands based carriers, which also includes Aviva, the majority owner.
On announcing its partnership with Neos – the first of its kind for a US insurer – AmFam says the exclusive agreement will enable its customers the ability to proactively protect their homes and guard against the need to make insurance claims – a mutually beneficial agreement from both customers’ and insurer’s viewpoint.
Matt Poll, CEO and co-founder of Neos, says the new approach will eventually transform the insurance industry, shifting from a reactive to a proactive business model. “As the insurance industry is transitioning towards an engaged customer approach globally, our UK launch helped us fine-tune the products and services that American Family will offer its customers in the US,” adds Matt.
Continuing further, Matt says, “Technology is the cornerstone in transitioning traditional insurance companies from a strictly pay-out approach, to a Prevention-led proposition.”
Furthermore, AmFam plans to launch the smart home and protective services offering in Arizona and Washington later this year.
