New RADAR Orders from US Military Force will be secured by RADA

The US military force, which is an existing customer of RADA Electronic (Israel-based defence provider RADA Electronic Industries), has placed both follow-on orders and a new order for the delivery of radars to a US military force for a total value of $3.5m where deliveries of the new orders are scheduled to be carried out this year.

The hemispheric radar (MHR) based counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) surveillance solutions has been awarded to RADA as recurring follow-on orders for the company’s multi-missionRADA now received its first order from the US for the delivery of its new and advanced extended compact hemispheric radar (eCHR) system.

Dov Sella, RADA Electronic Industries chief executive officer said that “We are encountering strong and growing momentum in the US market that is centered around counter-drone (C-UAV) and very short-range air defense systems (VSHORAD) demand.

He also mentioned that “Our technically advanced systems are now comprised with improvised software defined encrypted mechanism and multi-range-mission eCHR radar that was ordered now for C-UAV use, where it introduces improvised performance for Active Protection Systems (APS) that also includes combat vehicles. Here we see excellent potential to become a salient solution for a wide variety of protective missions.

The eCHR radar system that was developed by the company’s CHR system, with an S-band that includes encrypted software, pulse-Doppler, active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar. This was developed to address the need for active protection systems (APS) and to target fire detection mechanisms for combat vehicle which are suitable to use with APS, vehicle protection systems (VPS), C-UAV and perimeter surveillance solutions.
