Nexkey, a San Mateo, California-based smart access platform, as per recent reports last week, exhibited at the ISC West (International Security Conference & Exposition) 2019 event, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, last week, where the company made its trade show debut.
The company’s USP is its eponymous offering – Nexkey, a cloud-managed smart access platform that utilizes smartphone as the main credential. The product incorporates just one hardware device — wired or battery powered — that is installed right at the door.
The Nexkey Controller establishes a secure connection to any existing electric strike or magnetic lock, turning any smartphone into a key that opens the door via Bluetooth. The Nexkey Core is a smart lock cylinder that eventually transforms any mechanical lock into a smart lock, within mere minutes of installation time.
“We have completely simplified the experience of access management for end users and for installers we solved the main issue driving up costs for access control — complex installations,” states Eric Trabold, CEO, Nexkey. “Users can save time and money by managing access with a device already in their pocket — the smartphone, and security integrators see more profit from faster installations with far less wiring and equipment.”
The Nexkey software platform, comprised of one app, portal, and API, enables users to grant instant access to the person at the door, know who accessed the space and when was it accessed along with an automated audit trail, and remotely unlock doors for guests.
