Nortek Security & Control (NSC), a developer, manufacturer, and distributor of wired and wireless security and control systems for residential and commercial security, in a recent statement on Tuesday, Jan. 8th 2019, announced that will be demonstrating the implementation of the latest IntelliVision® face recognition and video analytics technologies with its two new products – the ELAN Intelligent Touch Panels and ELAN Intelligent Video Doorbell, at the Consumer Electronics Show –CES 2019 at Sands Exposition Center.
According to Bill Hensley, NSC Senior Marketing Director, the company by integrating advanced video analytics and face recognition technologies with its smart home control technologies, will redefine the smart-home experience for users, by taking them to a place that is beyond the realm of today’s smart home, making the smart home more intuitive and personalized.
Implementing, the IntelliVision® face recognition technology into the new ELAN Intelligent Touch Panels, which comes with a high-res touch screen interface and built-in microphone array providing Alexa and Google Assistant voice interface, enables users to have more personalization options than what they’ve ever witnessed before on touch panels to interact and control the connected smart home. But the cherry on the top deal is the face recognition. The face recognition feature on ELAN touch panel identifies a user as he/she approaches them, and then displays user-customized menu options. Based on user’s lighting and temperature preferences, turns on lighting or heating, plays their favorite music, in short, the system becomes intuitive to the user’s lifestyle.
