The full-service procurer of medical, billing, employment records, and other claims related data services in the U.S., Ontellus has acquired a Cloud-based HIPAA compliant medical record exchange portal, Chartswap. Established in 2012, Chartswap offers hospitals and other medical care facilities with the ability to securely delivery patient records. By using and single Cloud-based platform, requestors can securely order, track and pay for records from any participating provider within the ChartSwap network. Its widespread and growing provider network consists of billing groups for hospital-based specialties, radiology, EMS groups, imaging, labs, physical therapists and a host of many other medical groups.
On this move, Ontellus CEO Darren Klauser stated that retrieving and handling medical records can present many complex challenges. He continues that having a digital platform that medical providers use to securely distribute records electronically will enable Ontellus to expedite the retrieval services that we provide our clients with today. This acquisition is consistent with our strategy to continue to expand our ecosystem supporting the entire supply chain of records procurement through data analysis, Klauster added. Ahead of the acquisition, Newton Ross will lead the ChartSwap Division for Ontellus and newly appointed Dawn Toups will lead the National Provider expansion of the ChartSwap network as Business Development. However, financial details of the acquisition didn’t disclose by companies, as the reports noted.
Based in Houston, Texas with additional offices in Chicago, Orlando and Tampa, Florida; and Temecula, Pomona, San Jose, Sacramento, Walnut Creek, and Fresno, California, Ontellus empowers insurance carriers, self-insured corporations, and law firms to cut down costs, make informed decisions and speed up claims resolution. The company leverages decades of experience and cutting-edge technology to deliver effective solutions within industry-leading spin times and the highest levels of security.
