Polte Corporation, a Richardson, Texas-based Cloud Location over Cellular (C-LoC) technology provider, as per recent reports, has announced appointing IoT entrepreneur – Daniel Collins – to the company’s advisory board.
Collins, who co-founded Jasper Technologies and served as its CTO, took the company to great heights, transforming it into a major IoT Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform provider. Back in 2016, Cisco Systems in a $1.4B acquisition deal purchased Jasper, with Collins continuing as the first CTO of the Cisco IoT business unit.
Prior to his role as CTO at Jasper, Collins previously held many positions such as VP at Alcatel and TeleworX, in addition to being a consultant for AT&T Wireless as Chief Network Architect for the AT&T’s GSM/GPRS network rollout. Collins began his professional career at Ericsson as Product Manager helping launch the first GSM Network in the UK.
Apart from being an expert on wireless network, Collins also authored a book – Carrier Grade Voice Over IP, published by McGraw-Hill publication – and co-authored two additional editions of this publication work. He has also co-authored 3G Wireless Networks, a yet another McGraw-Hill publication work, and has in total 47 authored or co-authored patents under his belt.
“Daniel brings a level of expertise in the wireless, SaaS and IoT space that adds tremendous value to the Polte leadership team. His very successful startup experience with Jasper, as well as his decades of experience with cloud providers and telcos, equips Polte with key strategic insights,” stated Ed Chao, CEO, Polte. “We are thrilled to have Daniel join our team.”
Also, speaking on this context, Daniel Collins said, “Polte’s positioning technology is unparalleled in the market. Utilizing Cloud Location over Cellular (C-LoC) not only enables low cost, low power IoT devices but adds chip-to-cloud security that will become a fundamental pillar for IoT solutions. I’m delighted to collaborate with Polte’s team and help them grow the company.”
