The newly included face recognition feature is enabled by the Alarm.com platform.

“This is a tremendous upgrade to our combined solution,” says Mike Hackett, SVP of Sales & Marketing, Qolsys. “It again demonstrates software’s power to unlock hardware’s potential and provide innovative features that increase customer engagement.”

With Alarm.com’s Unexpected Activity Alerts for Face Recognition, property owners now have the ability to monitor unauthorized code sharing. Moreover, they can now receive alerts whenever there is a code mismatch, i.e. the person using a disarm code is different from the person assigned to that code. The in-built camera at the panel captures a disarm image at the panel, allowing customers to see who tried gaining access into their home and take immediate actions. The Qolsys IQ Panel 2 comes with the above-mentioned feature.

“We’re using face recognition to enhance Unexpected Activity Alerts, which help our service provider partners deliver even more value to their customers,” comments Daniel Kerzner, Chief Product Officer at Alarm.com. “Our technology delivers a new layer of protection by proactively alerting property owners to unexpected activity at their home or business — in this case, unauthorized user code sharing.”
