Qualcomm Inc., a San Diego, California-based multinational semiconductor and telecommunications equipment company, as per recent reports last week, has launched its latest smart cities accelerator program – with a prime focus on community.
According to Qualcomm, the new program will play a key role in uniting all varied communities of companies that have been major clients to Qualcomm’s products offering, in its bid to deliver a solutions-focused website for the application of smart cities across the world. The program will be connecting government agencies, cities, enterprises and municipalities with an ecosystem of providers, vendors, and developers that offer Qualcomm’s technology-based solutions tailor-made for the application of smart cities.
Sanjeet Pandit, Senior Director, Business Development & Head of Smart Cities at Qualcomm, stated, “The Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program is a central hub for smart cities solution providers. By working with proven expertise and deployed solutions, cities, municipalities, government agencies and enterprises can speed the realization of their smart cities visions. This program aims to foster a rich ecosystem of B2B collaborations that we hope will speed the development and deployment of smart cities solutions around the globe.”
Also, earlier in Apr. 2019, the company unveiled its new AI-optimized Snapdragon chips for both high end and mid-tier devices.
Kedar Kondap, VP of product management at Qualcomm, said during the launch of these new Snapdragon chips, “With the introduction of the Snapdragon 730, 730G and 665 Mobile Platforms, we are bringing features such as sophisticated AI, exceptional gaming and advanced camera capabilities to a broad spectrum of devices at an exceptional performance. Each of the iterations of Snapdragon drives immense innovation that will surpass customer expectations.”
