NEW YORK, May 15, 2019 — Marina Maher Communications (MMC) announced today the appointment of Rema Vasan as EVP, Chief Innovation Officer. Vasan will report directly to Founder and CEO, Marina Maher and partner with MMC’s leadership team to continue to deliver on the agency’s growth in next gen communications. In her initial remit, Vasan will tap into her diverse marketing experience and deep digital expertise to oversee the Brand Engagement Group and lead the charge to create a new practice at MMC centered on consumer tech. In addition, Vasan will oversee and develop the agency’s Corporate Brand practice.
Vasan’s 20+ years of diversified experience, both in house and at agencies, has given her the unique ability to solve business challenges with an inherently integrated mindset. Her career has focused on championing breakthrough creative ideas that have successfully built the equity of blue-chip global brands, utilizing a deep expertise of digital marketing. Vasan has led global marketing communications for some of the world’s biggest and most recognized brands at Procter & Gamble, Pfizer Consumer HealthCare, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare and Unilever, across Asia, Europe, and North America.

Vasan comes to MMC from MSL where she was EVP, Global Lead of P&G and MSL Fluency. Prior positions include Director, Global Digital Strategy at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare and SVP, Global Digital Group Account Director at Publicis. She has directed work that has been recognized with Effies, SABREs, PRWeek awards and Cannes Lions.
Vasan has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and North America, and speaks multiple languages. An advocate for the advancement of women in leadership, she mentors aspiring female leaders all over the world. She was named a Campaign Digital 40 Over 40 2017 honoree and has served as a Cannes Lions Festival juror.
