For this, both companies have established a USD100 million fund, with saying that the initiative is reinforcing the mass adoption of Blockchain technology in the game industry through increase the engagement and monetization with players.

According to the reports, Forte is targeting game developers running live games economies with over 50,000 daily active users and whose interest in Blockchain implementation. The company’s Chief Platform Officer, Brett Seyler stated that key innovations in Blockchain technologies unlock the huge potential for almost all forms of interaction. The gaming sector is a USD140 billion industry that is driven largely by digital micro-transaction economies, which will immensely benefit from the integrity and resilience of Blockchain technology.  Headquartered in San Francisco, Forte’s products reportedly utilize the open-source Interledger Protocol with Ripple’s XRP token and the container-based hosting solution Codius that facilitates cross-chain transactions. Backed by key industry players, including venture fund Andreessen Horowitz, early-stage capital firm Canaan Partners and Coinbase Ventures among others, Forte be in the marketplace as a Blockchain-centric startup. Xpring is Ripple’s initiative to develop a developers’, entrepreneurs’, and companies’ community engaged in Blockchain technology.

Blockchain has been rapidly making their paths into the gaming industry. Recently, Enjin, an Ethereum-based digital asset tokenization startup, announced that it will release a Software Development Kit for leading game development engine Unity. With this, Unity developers can build, amalgamate and manage the distribution of ERC1155-compliant tokens on the Ethereum Blockchain. In another instance, Blockchain-focused firm HashCash Consultants, in February, teamed up with an undisclosed Australian video game development platform to begin its white label Cryptocurrency exchange and tokenization services for the gaming industry.
