The changes are also going to be applicable on the ThinkPad X1 Yoga, ThinkPad X1 Carbon and ThinkPad X1 Tablet. The X1 series is the ultraportable business lineup of devices. Even though the new models looks very similar to the previous models, they are actually smaller and lighter at 2.4 pounds when compared to the earlier 2.7 pounds. The newer models are incorporated with 14-inch, Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE modem and kaby Lake Processor. The X1 Carbon’s battery life is claimed to be 15.5 hours while compared to 10 hours in the earlier models. Just like the other ThinkPad models the Carbon has the Precision Trackpad from Microsoft. The HDMI port, two USB Type-C and two USB Type-A ports should cover up for the lack up SD card slot.

If the models stand up to the claims that the company is making will only be confirmed once the models are out for review. However, considering the popularity of the ThinkPad lineup this could be a game changer. The X1 Carbon, X1 Yoga and X1 tablet models will be priced at $1349, $1500 and $949 respectively. The models will start shipping February 2017.
