u-blox, a fabless semiconductor company that specializes in leading positioning and wireless communication technologies, and SolidRun, an embedded system manufacturer renowned for CuBox family of mini-computers, in a joint press release statement on Tuesday, Mar. 12th 2019, announced their collaboration on a new range of IoT connectivity products lineup, which includes the indoor and outdoor use IoT Edge Gateways, System-on-Modules (SOMs), and Single-Board Computers (SBCs).
Each new solution comes equipped with a u-blox NINA stand-alone single-, dual- or multi-radio module, offering IoT connectivity in a small, fully certified low power application format. Last month, in Feb. 2019, at the Embedded World 2019 event held at Nuremberg, Germany, SolidRun showcased its latest product offering: the SolidSense N6 Edge Gateway, an IoT endpoint management IoT M2M gateway. Moreover, the Edge Gateway comes in a fan-less enclosure design to meet indoor or outdoor installation requirements, making it an ideal choice to offer Internet connectivity in a distributed smart sensor network.
SolidRun’s gateways and SBCs come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® Personal Area Networking, Wirepas® Mesh, cellular connectivity, along with USB and a wired Ethernet port that supports 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds. Furthermore, these gateways and SBCs are powered by NXP’s i.MX6 ARM® Cortex™-A9 processor in either a single-, dual- or quad-core configuration, as per application and can integrate up to 2GB of DDR3 memory module.
