UrbanFootprint, an end to end urban planning software provider headquartered in Berkeley, California, in a recent press release statement, on Wednesday, Mar. 6th 2019, announced entering into a partnership agreement with ICLEI, Local Governments for Sustainability USA, a worldwide local governance network whose aim is to create sustainable, equitable, and resilient communities.
According to Joe DiStefano, Co-Founder of UrbanFootprint, the company is ecstatic to collaborate with ICLEI to equip local city, town, and regional governments with necessary tools to reduce emissions, mitigate impacts due to climatic changes, and create smart climate adaptation plans. Adding further Joe said that UrbanFootprint’s customers will now be able to quickly and easily make emissions impact measurements for current and future land use scenarios with assumptions that align with ICLEI’s ClearPath, a leading software platform in greenhouse gas emission management and climate preparedness action plans.
The said partnership between UrbanFootprint and ICLEI is expected to offer extra support to local governments that are striving to address climatic challenges with the creation of smart climate adaptation plans. As the two entities gear up for the future alignment of the two software platforms, the prime focus is to aid cities in breaking through the departmental silos and come up with innovative solutions to bridge the gap between city sustainability and land-use planning. Under this partnership agreement, new UrbanFootprint Civic customers will get a one-year ICLEI membership, free of cost, and current ICLEI members will be allowed to purchase UrbanFootprint’s planning and analysis software at a discounted price.
