The US challenger bank will reside within popular messenger platforms like Facebook Messenger, Viber, and Telegram. The move is expected to completely eliminate the need for a branch visit, or app download, offering a 100% digital card delivery with Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.

The move is aimed at targeting the millennials and Gen Zs, who literally spend most of their time in these messenger platforms, to offer them financial services. According to LikeBank’s founder Elliot Goykhman, who is a Russian national living in New York, LikeBank is the most digital and lightest bank in the world. Goykhman, having worked at Alfa-Bank and B&N Bank in Moscow, has plenty of experience in the relevant field.

The challenger bank’s website, which is up and running, offers new registrants a card and allows them to manage their day-to-day finances in the messenger of choice. Adding further, Goykhman, who is currently in the test stage with a “closed group”, explains that the bank’s services which are currently available within Facebook Messenger, Viber and Telegram, will also be extended to WhatsApp very soon. Goykhman, along with millennials and Gen Z, is keen to bring in the self-employed and freelancers onboard. The challenger bank’s services will also be available via voice command – with Apple’s Siri, Google Assistant, Amazon’s Alexa and Line’s Clova virtual assistant support in the near future.
