It’s been a while now that the Microsoft onlookers mentioned that the Windows 10 Anniversary update will be the only feature update of Microsoft in 2016, which was been acknowledged by the officials from Microsoft. The company mentioned that Windows 10 1607 in the third and final feature update for 2016 targeting the companies who are moving to Windows 10. Though Microsoft also mentioned there will be 2 more updates in 2017.
Threshold 1 and Threshold 2 are the two other updates from Microsoft in 2015 and the Windows 10 Anniversary update was codenamed Redstone 1. Though the initial plan included Redstone 2 update scheduled for this year but the company changed the schedule and postponed it for early 2017.
If the company sticks to its regular release schedule users can expect the Redstone 2 and Redstone 3 updates to be arriving in spring and fall of 2017. An article mentioned that Microsoft intends to upgrade its Windows 10 twice or thrice in a given calendar year. Hence this year’s only one upgrade seems to break that pattern. Test builds of the Redstone 2 the next Windows 10 upgrade which is scheduled to be released in spring of 2017 will be available for tester once the company starts its insider preview.
