As the tablet sales keep on declining, even the best of the models couldn’t do anything. According to the new report, a combined number of 43 million units have been shipped by Samsung, Apple and other tablet vendors in the third quarter. The number is declining every year at a rate of 14.7 percent. The two-in-one low-cost laptops flooding the market is blamed as the main reason for the tablet sale decline by the analysts. Jitesh Ubrani, IDC’s senior research analyst said, “the battle to the bottom is something we have previously experienced with slates and it may show unfavorable to the market in the long run as detachable devices could effortlessly be seen as disposable devices relatively than potential PC replacements”.
With a two-third of shipping numbers, the iPad Air and iPad Mini are the Cupertino’s bestselling models in the third quarter despite Apple boosting sales for iPad Pro the high-end model. Apple saw a sale decline by 6.2 percent despite being the tablet leader. Lenovo, Huawei, and Samsung have also seen a decline in the sale. According to a report, the Tab Pro S from Samsung remains uncompetitive even though it got good reviews. Amazon is the only vendor to register a growth in sale in the top five list.
