Semtech Corporation, a supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, based in Camarillo, Ventura County, southern California, in a recent press release announcement said that YoSmart, a high-tech smart home, and life products company, is integrating Semtech’s LoRa devices and wireless radio frequency technology into its new range of enterprise and commercial smart building products.
According to John Xu, CEO, YoSmart, the company’s flexible smart solutions enables large establishments such as campuses and hotels, maximize their efficiency. With Semtech’s LoRa Technology, IoT connectivity in large, densely thick environments where hundreds of connected devices need to be managed independently, is significantly simplified. This further allows building space managers a better insight to make better choices, leading to more efficient energy management at an optimized cost.
YoSmart’s new range of LoRa-enabled devices includes door locks, thermostats, sprinkler controllers, leakage monitors, and smoke alarms. These devices come with LoRa connectivity to a building’s network and can be remotely monitored to better energy management, predict maintenance necessity, and saving building rent costs.
According to Vivek Mohan, Director, IoT, Wireless and Sensing Products Group, Semtech, the company’s LoRa scalability and capability to penetrate dense building materials make it ideal for smart home and building applications, no matter how large. The company’s LoRa tech for enterprise buildings come with multiple application connectivity, ranging from thermostats to security systems, under the same network.
