Dell-to-Acquire Dell to Acquire EMC for $67 BillionToday, Dell, Inc. announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase EMC, one of Accunet Solutions’ strategic partners, for an approximate total of $67 Billion in cash and stock. This will be the single largest technology takeover ever. Dell is positioning the deal as creating an end-to-end technology solutions company, able to provide everything from the desktop to the data center and the cloud.

Dell, backed by private-equity firms Silver Lake and MDS Partners, is purchasing the entire EMC Federation, including VMware, VCERSA, and Pivotal. Accunet has been a long-time solutions provider partner with each of EMC, VMware, VCE, and RSA.

The deal will take the EMC companies private, but leave VMware as a publicly-traded company. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2016. At the moment, the upcoming change has no effect on Accunet’s ability to provide EMC Federation solutions to our customers.
